About Course

Risk factors for lateral ankle sprain include limited dorsiflexion, reduced proprioception, and poor balance. Indoor court sports pose the highest risk. The mechanism of most ankle sprains involves inversion of the plantarflexed foot and damages the lateral ligaments. Medial ankle sprains are relatively uncommon.
